Three parts from a constant-force escapement taken from one of Thomas Mudge’s early marine chronometers, or possibly a clock, England, c.1785. The balance is very large and is complete with its cranked balance staff and a gold helical balance-spring. Also a constant-force escape-wheel with double spiral springs and cocks.
