Marine chronometer by Charles Young, London, c.1825. Gimballed mahogany box with inspection lid. Brass dial with applied chapter ring and inset silvered seconds, signed on the dial ‘No. 173 Charles Young’. Movement with spring detent escapement with two arm compensation balance, flat spiral spring with its stud on a flexible arm. Movement contained within brass cannister.
