Quarter-repeating gold watch by Abraham-Louis Breguet, Paris, sold 1808 to Mr Holland. Gold engine-turned case. Gold dial with roman numerals and subsidiary dials for seconds and calendar. Breguet-style looped hands. Movement with repeating work, double wheel duplex escapement, balance with 'parachute' shock-proof settings and compensation curb. Signed on the cuvette ‘Breguet No. 1619’. Presented by Mrs. R. Whiteing to the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers for their museum collection in May 1995. Clockmakers' Museum No. 1190
