Zoetrope strip entitled 'Such a Getting Up Stairs' by the London Stereoscopic and Photographic Company.

A zoetrope strip is a strip of paper with a sequence of printed drawings representing a scene in motion which sits inside a the drum of a zoetrope. When the drum is rotated, the images provide a loop of continuous motion.

This imagery is based upon the American song from the early 1830s "Sich a Getting Up Stairs" which was in the repertoire of Thomas D Rice and other early "blackface" performers.
