Beyer Peacock Printing Block
A printing block with a surface image of individuals relaying on the main line of the Rhodesia Railways Ltd, now National Railways of Zimbabwe.
National Railways of Zimbabwe was initially created as the Bechuanaland Railway Company on 24 May 1893. It was renamed Rhodesia Railways Ltd on 1 July 1899, after the British coloniser Cecil Rhodes, for whom areas of southern Africa, today Zimbabwe and Zambia, were named while under colonial occupation. Following independence, on 1 July 1979 Rhodesia Railways Ltd became the Zimbabwe Rhodesian Railways, and one year later on 1 May 1980 it gained its current name, National Railways of Zimbabwe.
