London & Birmingham Railway letter, 1837

Made:
14th September 1837

London & Birmingham Railway, Coaching Department letter, dated 14th September 1837. To R Creed from [A?] Bagster.

Transcription:

Dear Sir, It will be found necessary to have a Regulation Clock, to adjust our Guards chronometer, & the Road Station Clocks, with much greater accuracy, than it is possible with our present clock in the office. I enclose a note from Thwaites & Reed on the subject with their prices. As it will be a subject of growing importance may I be allowed to suggest the propriety of placing one, in the Board Room, which might enable us with scrupulous exactness, to adjust all the clocks of the Establishment.
