sE Electronics sE2200A microphone, from the Yogscast gaming YouTube channel studio.

Yogscast was founded in 2008 by friends Lewis Brindley and Simon Lane. They started posting videos of games on YouTube and streaming iTunes podcasts about World of Warcraft. The group grew over the years, and by 2012 they were the fourth most popular YouTube channel in the UK (ahead of BBC Worldwide). In 2013 they reached 5 million subscribers.

This equipment is from Yogscast’s first home in Bond Street, Bristol. This Bristol home, dubbed ‘YogTowers,’ was where the group were based as they rose in popularity. In 2014, two years after moving to Bond Street, Lewis Brindley was named in the Sunday Times as one of Britain’s 500 most influential people.

The equipment would enable the team to play a game and live stream this online, with an overlay of their live reactions and discussion over the game.
