Iodoform guaze in cardboard box. There is a printed inscription reading 'Pleated Compressed Iodoform Gauze. Trademark 'Tabloid' brand. 3 yards'. Burroughs Wellcome and Company Limited, English, c. 1910.

Medicine chest by Burroughs Wellcome, style 251, supplied to British Antarctic Expedition, 1910. Contains 38 gutta percha bottles of various drugs and other items. Tabloid Brand Medicine Case for Sledge Service. This case formed a part of the Capt Robert Falcon Scott's Medical Equipment for the Antarctic Expedition of 1910. It was left at the foot of the Beardmore Glacier and was found buried in the snow at the until it was picked up in November 1912 by Dr. Atkinson.
