Radio headset for spacesuit used by Tim Peake
Tim Peake’s radio headset used during the Principia mission to the International Space Station in 2015.
This radio headset was used by ESA British astronaut Tim Peake during his mission to the International Space Station between December 2015 – June 2016.
The Principia mission saw Peake launch to the ISS with fellow astronauts Tim Kopra and Yuri Malenchenko for a six-month stay. During his time there, Peake conducted hundreds of experiments, many of them to test the effects of microgravity on his own body and experimental materials.
The headset is part of the Sokol KV-2 spacesuit developed by Russian company Zvezda. Astronauts use radio headsets to communicate with mission control while travelling in and from the ISS or with the crew of the spacecraft while on a spacewalk.
