Bhaisajyaguru (Medicine Buddha) is the Buddha of healing and medicine in Mahayana Buddhism. He is usually depicted seated, holding an alms bowl or gallipot, The pot either contains medicinal ointment or a sprig of myrobalan, a Himalayan plant that is reputed to have healing properties.
