Heated to 36°C to 37°C or normal body temperature, these wax packs are slipped inside the neonatal sleeping bag known as a BabyWrap™, giving heat up to four hours. The Embrace® Nest infant warming set is a low-cost solution to help premature and low-birth weight babies regulate their temperature. In 2008, four Stanford University students came up with the design as part of their studies. They were challenged to create an incubator 1% of the cost of a traditional one, which in the United States costs $20,000. Access to incubators is challenging in areas where access to treatment is limited due to cost or distance. Following clinical trials, the Embrace® Nest was launched in 2011 in India, where it is widely used.
