Power supply for microdenistometer

Made:
1990-2010 in Berkshire

Power supply, servomechanism, which provided DC power for the xy-motors of the Joyce-Loebl microdensitometer (E2018.0724.1) at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. Made by McLennan Engineering Ltd., Crowsthorne, Berkshire, England, 1990-2010.

This type of power supply, known as a servomechanism, was used to operate a molecular film scanner (a microdensitometer) by Richard Henderson, 2017 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, and Nigel Unwin, at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in their work in visualising biological molecules.
