Letter from from Maurice Mason to Alfred Swaine Taylor, dated 16 April 1838 , thanking Taylor on behalf of the Board of Guardians for analysing samples of soup and gruel. Alfred Swaine Taylor (1806-1880) was an eminent British forensic medicine expert, toxicologist and early photographic pioneer.
