3D printed model; normal fetal brain at 26 weeks gestation
3D printed model of a normal fetal brain at 26 weeks gestation made by the Centre for Advanced Additive Manufacturing (AdAM) at the University of Sheffield
This model of a normal fetal brain at 26 weeks gestation came with a sequence of fetus brain models comprising a teaching set from the University of Sheffield. Their purpose is to help improve radiologists' understanding of fetal anatomy and help them develop their skills in fetal neuroimaging. The data for these models was acquired using 3D inutero MR imaging from patients at the University of Sheffield's Hospital. The model represents an important stage in the development and utilisation of 3D printing.
