Workmate 7” Quick Vise, Type 1, by Black & Decker Inc. and Hickman Design Ltd., 1980-1990.

This object demonstrates how the patented design features of the ‘Workmate’ combined vice and workbench could be applied into new products. The vice has a quick release, could be rotated in azimuth, and incorporated the Workmate’s adjustable vice screws, for clamping both straight and non-linear work.
