The afflicted part of the brain is "burned out" with electric current and its removal is not necessary. Photo shows an operation for epilepsy in progress - the stereo apparatus enables the surgeon to find the afflicted area with an accuracy of within one millimetre. Then the afflicted part is "burned out" with electricity.
