Mercury MA-8 Flight Space Suit, replica, by Global Effects Inc., c. 1990-2000.

The Mercury space suit – originally known as the Navy Mark IV – was used on all six of the manned Mercury missions between 1961 and 1963. It was developed for NASA by the B. F. Goodrich company from an original design for high-altitude fighter pilots. This replica represents the suit worn by Walter Schirra during his Mercury MA-8 flight in the Sigma 7 capsule. The external appearance of the suit and helmet are near identical to the real thing. It can be worn but with the unavailability of original A7LBs will be used as an important and striking display object.
