Le Prince film of a garden scene in Leeds, West Yorkshire, October 1888. This sequence, from possibly the earliest surviving film taken by Louis le Prince (1841-1890?), shows Mr and Mrs Whitley, le Prince's parents-in-law, his son Adolphe and Harriet Hartley in the Whitley's garden in Leeds. They are walking in a circle to keep within the area framed by le Prince's camera, a single-lens camera which he himself devised.
