Gelatine silver print entitled 'The 'last bobbin', Dixon's Bobbin Mills, Steeton, Near Keighlety' by Ian Beesley. Produced for the commission `Through the Mill:, The Story of Yorkshire Wool in Photographs'. 1985-1987'.
Cardboard and stiff paper tubes have come to replace traditional wooden bobbins and in January 1983 the last Yorkshire bobbin mill, at Steeton, near Keighley, closed and has subsequently been demolished.
