Gelatine silver print entitled 'Elizabeth', Esholt Sewage Works, Bradford' by Ian Beesley. Signed in pencil on the back. Produced for the commission 'Through the Mill: The Story of Yorkshire Wool in Photographs', 1985-1987.
This 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotive built by Hudswell Clarke (Leeds) was in service at the sewage works from 1958 until 1978. This and the sister engine 'Nelly' were both specifically designed to run on the wool grease extracted from the sewage.
