Gelatine silver print entitled 'Salt's New Mill' by Ian Beesley. Signed in pencil on the back. Produced for the commission 'Through the Mill: The Story of Yorkshire Wool in Photographs', 1985-1987.
This mill was built by Titus Salt in 1868 as a spinning mill to make use of spare steam power at the works. The chimney is a copy of the campanile of the Venetian church of Santa Maria, Gloriosa.
