Black and white photograph of peat cutting. Taken by Ian MacDonald and Patrick Sutherland, 1985. Cutting and leading peats which will be laid out flat to harden on the moor being stood in rickles to dry thoroughly. A rickle is a stack of peats that are drying. From the Impressions Gallery exhibition 'Written in the Fields'.
