Two headscarves made by J. Hubbard
Two headscarves made by J. Hubbard, early 20th century.
These scarves were manufactured at a cotton mill owned by John Hubbard and Co., an English firm of merchants and mill owners. The mill was situated in Schlusselburg, on an island on the River Neva near St Petersburg, Russia. The mill was fitted out with Mather and Platt machinery made in Manchester.
The firm was based there from the late nineteenth century until the Russian revolution of 1917.
