Carboard box containing gold tissue paper, two boxed Gold Heart Pins, heart-shaped engraved with the word ‘Yes’ and certificate signed by Anthony Clarkson, Chief Nurse, Organ Donation and Transplantation, awarded by NHS Blood and Transplant to families who support their loved one's decision to be an organ donor, 2018

Since February 2018, all families who agree to organ donation in England and Wales receive a heart shaped badge with the word ‘Yes’, to acknowledge and thank them for their role in honouring their loved ones wishes. The pin was inspired by the Gold Star Label Pin awarded in the United States to families who have lost a loved one during military service. Launched in 2013, organ donors are honoured posthumously by the Order of St John UK Award. The badges are accompanied by a certificate of thanks from the Chief Nurse for Organ Donation and Transplantation at NHS Blood and Transplant.
