More
The spectacle frames are an accessory that are used in conjunction with laryngoscope. The spectacle frames rest on the face of the doctor and hold a mirror that reflects light into the mouth of the patient. This helps to illuminate the mouth so that the doctors can better inspect the larynx. The spectacle frames mean that the reflecting mirror can held up to the patient without the need for the doctor to hold it in their hand. The idea to incorporates spectacle frames into laryngoscopy was first developed by Dr Frederick Semeleder.
