Set of diagnosis specimen tubes, electrodes, needles and an albuminometer, cased, owned by Dr. Philip Ellman, English, 1930-1960

The Clinical Research Association issued these collecting sets, for gathering samples to be sent for analysis. Each addressed envelope contains a small metal tube, inside of which is a tiny glass vial and scalpel for collecting blood for analysis. These were then dispatched by post to the Clinical Research Association laboratories in London. They were used to diagnose diseases such as typhoid or malaria. The envelope is part of a larger kit owned by respiratory physician Dr Philip Ellman (1901-1960).
