Cecil Parkinson (1931 - 2016) was a conservative politician who served under Margaret Thatcher from 1979 until 1990, resigning on the same day that Thatcher resigned as Prime Minister. He was named Baron Parkinson in 1992, and served in the House of Lords until his retirement in September 2015.
