Black and white photograph taken at Yelagine Palace, Petrograd. The photograph shows children from the Russian Royal Family gathered around climbing frame. H. H. Prince Vasili Alexandrovitch and H. H. Prince Rostislav Alexandrovitch are sat together at the bottom with their arms around each other and H. H. Princess Kira Kyrilovna standing slightly behind. H. H. Prince Nikita Alexandrovitch and H. H. Princess Maria Kyrilovna are both sitting further up the ladder and H. H. Prince Demetri Alexandrovitch is leaning against the frame on the right.

From page 7 of snapshot photograph album no. 15, compiled by Herbert Galloway Stewart (1866-1960). Galloway Stewart was English tutor to the sons of Grand Duke Alexander and his wife Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna, sister of Tsar Nicholas II, between 1908 and 1917.
