Gold watch by Samuel Augustus Brooks and Robert Medway. Gold case hallmarked London 1873 and stamped with casemakers mark WK (William Knight, Goswell Rd, Clerkenwell). On the rear of the case is the monogram 'SAB' and engraved on the dome the words 'PRESENTED TO Samuel Augustus Brooks WITH HIS FATHER'S LOVE, May 8th 1874'. Cream enamel dial signed 'Brooks', with blued-steel hands. Capped fullplate fusee movement, jewelled to the 3rd wheel, with cap jewels on balance (diamond), lever and escape wheel, the cap engraved with the name of 'Robt Medway, Kensall Green' and stamped inside LxR. Single-roller detached lever escapement. Gold balance, spiral balance-spring.
