'Please give me space' lanyard

'Please give me space' lanyard, social distancing indicator, developed in collaboration between RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People), the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme and the Cabinet Office, August 2020

Please Give Me Space launched in August 2020. For people with sight loss or people living with a sight impairment navigating the two metre rule and changes to public spaces to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has been extremely challenging. For many people this has impacted on their wellbeing and confidence. Many people have reported receiving abuse or being confronted for appearing not to follow social distancing rules. The scheme and its symbol were developed after research undertaken by RNIB. The symbol along with the words ‘Please give me space’ is available on several items including face coverings, lanyards and tabards. Wearing the Please Give Me Space tabard is an individual choice.
