Photographer's studio backdrop / backcloth attached to a large wooden beam. The image, painted in monochrome tones, shows a fire place, on the right, with a mirror above and a window to the immediate left of the fire place. The window is fitted with paneling and includes a louvre blind and tasseled pelmet. The left side of the image is difficult to decipher due to cracking and loss of paint.
