Surgical instrument set, copy, modern, original Roman
This replica surgical instrument set contains a probe, a combined probe and scoop and tweezers, which fit into a cylindrical case. The copies are made from copper and have been artificially aged. The original instruments would have been made from bronze. As well as being surgical instruments, these items could also be used to clean out the ears, skin or to remove unwanted hair.
The original was found in Pompeii, Italy and is now at the Naples Museum.
