Set of 3 toilet implements on ring, bronze, Sforza collection, Roman, 199BC-500AD
Suspended on the ring are three implements: tweezers, a pronged probe and a scoop, all made from bronze. The items may be used for personal grooming and could also have had a medical use.
The item was part of the Sforza collection which Henry Wellcome purchased in August 1930 for £250. The collection was largely Roman surgical instruments with some medieval and domestic items.
