Grey/yellow observation of sunspots made by John Willis on 23 April 1882. On the reverse Willis has written: "Note. This view of the sun had to be taken at intervals, as the weather was very stormy, and the glimpses of sunshine were 'few and far between', and there may have been many more spots (J.W. 23.4.82)" One of 275 pencil, ink and colour wash observations of the Sun and Jupiter made by Willis in Folkestone between 1879 and 1906.
