Dark brown/yellow observation of sunspots and the partial eclipse made by John Willis on 17 May 1882 at 6:45am. On the reverse Willis has noted ""This view was taken during the partial Eclipse of the Sun - The greatest phase occurred at 6.46 - magnitude of the Eclipse = 0.19. 0.'s diameter being 1.00. JW." 0.19 refers to 19%. One of 275 pencil, ink and colour wash observations of the Sun and Jupiter made by Willis in Folkestone between 1879 and 1906.
