Assorted sunspots delineated in ink and wash by John Willis, and dated on the front and reverse of the card. On the front: a group of sunspots, 11 April 1882 (x120 magnification); large spot, 7 May 1882 (x180 magnification); group of spots, 14 May 1882 (x180 magnification); same group of spots, 19 May 1882 at 6pm (x180 magnification); large spot, 4 June 1882 at 10:50am (x120 magnification). And on the reverse: group of sunspots, 2 July 1882 (x60 magnification); spots, 18 July 1882 (x60 magnification); large spot, 1 October 1882 (x60 magnification). One of 275 pencil, ink and colour wash observations of the Sun and Jupiter made by Willis in Folkestone between 1879 and 1906.
