Black/cream observation of sunspots made by John Willis on 26 July 1885 at 8:30am. The disc is ruled in quarters to indicate the north-south pole of the Sun and its axis of rotation. Their apparent position changes throughout the year. One of 275 pencil, ink and colour wash observations of the Sun and Jupiter made by Willis in Folkestone between 1879 and 1906.
