Many greetings cards makers developed cards with designs reflecting responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer for England since September 2019, is a familiar face from several televised UK government briefings and adverts about coronavirus. Whitty has also become known for saying ‘next slide please’ during briefings where many have commented on his calm and clear approach. Whitty is a doctor and epidemiologist, with experience in researching several infectious diseases including malaria and Ebola.
