Reflecting the blue and white visual design of the UK government’s public health advice, this greetings card gives a tongue in cheek meaning to the government’s “Hands, Face, Space” message. Instead of handwashing, hands are for opening presents, not touching your face is replaced by “scoffing mince pies” and space for social distancing is replaced by space for dancing. The card’s designer has three further suggestions for Christmas 2020 – “tipples for making charades enjoyable, wipes for santa-tising and a mask for hungover eyes.”

“Hands, Face, Space” was mentioned on 31 July 2020 by Prime Minister Boris Johnson during one of his televised briefings. It was launched as a campaign in September 2020.
