One magnetic reel-to-reel 1/4" audio tape, oral history interview with Mr H. Cox, conducted and recorded by David Jenkinson in Settle, followed by oral history interview with Mr W. Fleming, conducted and recorded with David Jenkinson in Carlisle. Both interviews were recorded on the same tape on 25 February 1976. Mr H. Cox, aged 83, talks about being a stonemason on the Settle-Carlisle railway line between 1902 and 1913. Mr W. Fleming talks about his role as an engine driver on the Settle-Carlisle line, for Midland Railway (MR), London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) and British Railways (BR) from 1915 to 1966.
