Three magnetic reel-to-reel 1/4" audio tapes, oral history interview with Robert Riddles CBE, conducted and recorded by David Jenkinson at the interviewee’s home on 3 February 1983. Robert Riddles, aged 90, talks about his railway engineering career, including being Sir William Stanier’s Principal Assistant when working for the London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) and being the Chief Mechanical Engineer (CME) for British Railways after the Nationalisation.

They are two original session tapes (tapes 1 of 2 and 2 of 2) and one edited master tape (made on 07/02/1983). Session tapes, 7 inch reels, mono, ½ track, recorded at 3 ¾ ips. Session tapes recording equipment: Tandberg Model 11 portable tape deck, ARG D202 microphones. Edited master, 7 inch reel, mono, 2 tracks, recorded at 3 ¾ ips. Edited master made using Sony TC 377.
