Blank ‘Kindness’ postcards distributed by Incredible Edible Todmorden, an urban gardening project in West Yorkshire, UK, during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020

At least 5000 of these 'Kindness' postcards were distributed by a Yorkshire-based community group, Incredible Edible Todmorden, during the initial months of the COVID-19 pandemic in spring 2020. The idea was that individual members of the community could write their contact details on the cards and post them through neighbour’s letterboxes to offer support to people in self-isolation or quarantine. The initiative was one of thousands of local 'mutual aid' groups set up across the country.
