Copy of Prime Minster Boris Johnson's letter to the nation with accompanying leaflet "Coronavirus Stay at Home Protect the NHS Save Lives" adapted by Sammie Read, April 2020

“You must stay home” was the message of this letter from Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, sent to every United Kingdom household in early April 2020. The letter detailed that you could only leave home for very restricted reasons and social distancing had to be maintained with anyone you did not live with. An accompanying leaflet set out the restrictions in more details and carried the public health message which was used throughout the first lockdown: “Stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives.” At the time that many received the letter, Boris Johnson was in hospital with COVID-19.
