Rainbow picture made from recycled materials, made by Rowan and Rosemary and displayed in the window of the family home for 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, made United Kingdom, 2020

During the first lockdown in England, beginning on 23 March 2020, rainbows became symbols of hope. Many children and young people drew pictures and made crafts to display in the windows of their homes. Made from recycled materials, this rainbow stayed up all year as the number of cases rose and fell and restrictions were altered to contain the spread of coronavirus. The family enjoyed hunting for other rainbows on walks during lockdown.
