Document reading stand
Grey plastic document holder/stand, hinged with base.
This document reading stand was Hawking's preferred means for examining physical copies of important documents. Despite his advanced disability, Hawking's administrative roles meant unavoidable document reading-and-signing, and not all of them could be done digitally.
The collection also includes examples of the means by which he provided his physical signature over different decades, and the actual examples of these will be found in the archival documents kept at Cambridge University Library.
