The Community Call Advice for COVID-19

"The Community Call Advice & Contact Information for Your County Mobilising Resources, Connecting Communities", Coronavirus COVID-19 Public Health Advice published by Health Service Executive and Government of Ireland Rialtas na hÉireann, 2020
In Ireland, people aged over 70, in a residential care home, medical conditions such as cancer, long term organ conditions or transplant recipients and pregnant people with significant heart disease were advised to cocoon. This meant staying at home and avoiding face to face contact. This leaflet contains phone numbers and email address for all areas in Ireland where support could be accessed.
Launched in April 2020, The Community Call was established so people who were cocooning could access essential supplies, meals, medicine, or support. Local community and charity groups worked together with government agencies. Advice was given on how to volunteer safely. Employees of An Post, the Irish postal service, also played a big part in checking on isolated elderly people. Every household was also sent free postcards to enable them to send a message to loved ones.
