Trophy designed for the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering, 2017
This trophy was awarded to Eric Fossum, George Smith, Nobukazu Teranishi and Michael Tompsett in recognition of their contributions to digital imaging technology, and in recognition of the impact this technology has had on our world.
The QE Prize holds a competition to design the trophy, open to young people worldwide. The 2017 winner was Samuel Bentley, aged 15, from Wales. Samuel took inspiration from the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon.
