Opticians and audiologists were an essential service that remained open during the national lockdowns for those that needed them. For those that visited in person, limited numbers of people were allowed in, social distancing and thorough cleaning, including test frames. New ways were also introduced for people to access the services including talking to experts by video or telephone call, ordering glasses, contact lenses or hearing aids online, and a Facebook group. Remote services have continued as restrictions have reduced.
