Abilities: Canada’s Lifestyle Magazine for People with Disabilities, Issue Number 16, Fall 1993. Featuring an article by Lisa Bendall: "To Boldy Go…?: A brief Trek into the mind of Stephen Hawking."

Part of Stephen Hawking's Office collection, but not coming directly from the office, are a collection of popular magazines that feature articles about Stephen Hawking dated after 1987 when he became a household name with the publication of A Brief History of Time. These magazines are a sample of how he became famous in the 1980s and 1990s in varied cultural contexts and languages. These magazines were meant for display, at Cambridge or to outside organizations in exhibitions and puiblic events featuring Stephen Hawking.
