Hidden Disabilities card, with the wording 'I have EDS'

Hidden Disabilities card, with the wording 'I have EDS (Ehlers-Danlos syndromes)' and 'I can have skin that bruises or tears easily, and loose joints that can simply dislocate or injure. I may have persistent, widespread pain and fatigue so may need a place to rest. Please be patient and ask me what I need', designed by Tabbers Limited, part of Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme, 2021

Ehlers-Danlos syndromes is a group of rare conditions which affect connective tissue in people’s bodies. There are 13 types of EDS, all of which have a genetic cause. Each person who has a type of EDS will experience the symptoms differently. Pain and fatigue are common and joints may be painful and overly mobile causing dislocations. Their skin may bruise easily and may easily stretch.

Launched at Gatwick airport in 2016, the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a symbol that people can choose to wear indicating that they may need additional assistance, space, or time.
